Summary:

The Caribbean 600 began in 2009 and quickly established itself as a world class sailing event. Today it attracts a fleet of over 60 yachts and keen sailors including some of the biggest names in yacht racing. The race is split into eleven legs over a 600 nautical mile course, which begins and ends in Antigua. The course takes in some of the most spectacular Caribbean islands and offers some ideal sailing conditions.

The race takes approximately 2 days to complete and encompasses everything idyllic about with sailing; from the breath taking views and the wide variety of cultures sailors will come into contact with along the route, to the fantastic sailing weather conditions. However, it should be noted that while conditions may be perfect, this race is far from easy with novice sailors competing alongside some of the biggest names in sailing on the complicated course allowing for numerous tactical challenges to be met along the way.

As well as the incredible sailing there is also some fantastic on shore activities that are not to be missed. Highlights include the warm welcome party complete with Caribbean barbeque and steel orchestra hosted by the Antigua Yacht Club and the prize giving where all entries receive a personalised English Harbour Rum Decanter keepsake.

Those left behind on shore are still able to be a part of the race as today the whole fleet are fitted with the latest tracking systems which allow friends and families to keep up to date with the race as it happens.

Registration to the race opens in June with the closing date for entries a week before the race starts in February.
